Igalo, Montenegro

Waterfront

Beach & Pool

Hotel Vienna is a beachfront property, which here means something quite literal: the private pebble beach area belongs to the hotel and begins a few steps beyond the terrace. The water in this part of the bay is clear and calm, sheltered by the surrounding coast.

Above the shoreline, a sun deck and a seasonal adults-only pool give the property a second, quieter waterfront, and the gardens hold enough shaded seating that the middle of the day never feels crowded.

The shoreline

A beach that belongs to the house

Beach chairs and loungers are available for guests, and the sun deck above gives you a shaded alternative when the middle of the day gets bright. Garden and outdoor furniture is spread around the grounds, so there is usually a quiet corner free.

Because the beach is part of the hotel rather than a public stretch reached by road, the walk back for a cold drink, a towel or a nap takes under a minute. Most guests end up swimming several times a day simply because it is easy.

The pool, in season

The outdoor pool is seasonal and reserved for adults. It sits on the terrace with a view across the water, which makes late afternoon its best hour, once the sun has moved off the deck.

Because it operates only during the warmer part of the year, please confirm the pool season for your travel dates when you reserve.

Keeping the pool adults-only is deliberate. Families have the beach, the garden and the terrace, while the pool deck stays the place to read for an hour without anyone splashing beside you.

Slow days by the water

Days at Hotel Vienna tend to fall into an easy rhythm. Breakfast on the terrace, a first swim before the light gets strong, a stretch of reading on a lounger, then lunch and the long, quiet middle of the afternoon when the bay goes glassy and the pebbles hold the heat.

Pebble shore and shaded seating near the water

Swimming from a pebble beach is different from a sandy one: the water stays clearer, the entry is firmer underfoot and the sea keeps its colour close to shore. Water shoes are a small comfort many guests appreciate.

Later, the garden and the sun deck become the social parts of the property. Bicycle rental is available for an additional charge if you would rather follow the waterfront toward Herceg Novi, and BBQ facilities are available for an additional charge for guests who like to cook outdoors.

Evenings usually end back on the terrace, where the restaurant’s cocktail hour overlaps with the last of the light on the far side of the bay.
